IPL 2023 Rules New
IPL 2023 New Rules: When the BCCI implemented the Impact Player Rule in 2023, the IPL’s history underwent a huge alteration. The event will follow the guidelines from the last iteration aside from that. Following is information on the IPL 2023 rules:
Two DRS will be present in the IPL in 2023.
Unless it’s the last ball of the over, the incoming batsman will take the strike after a catch dismissal regardless of whether the batsmen have crossed or not.
In the event that one or more teams cannot find their starting lineup due to COVID-19, the BCCI will attempt to reschedule the match for a later date in the IPL Groups List.
If a change in schedule is not possible, the IPL Technical Team will look into the matter.
If the Super Over or any subsequent Super Overs cannot be completed for any reason, the club with the higher league finish will be declared the winner in the playoffs or championship game.
Impact Player Rule: What Is It?
Unless there are fewer than 4 foreign players in the playing XI, the Impact Player must be an Indian player.
If a team substitutes a foreign player as an Impact Player during a match, there can never be a fifth foreign player on the pitch.
Teams must select 4 substitutions in addition to the starting X1 during toss time; however, only one of those substitutes may be used as an impact player.
The Captain will make the Impact Player suggestion.
Impact Players may be used before the start of an inning, following the end of an over, after a wicket has been taken, or following a batter’s retirement at any point in the over.
A Player who is replaced by an Impact Player (“Replaced Player”) is ineligible to play the rest of the game and is not allowed to come back as a replacement fielder.
According to the BCCI, an Impact Player is not allowed to hold the position of captain.
A retired batter may be replaced by an Impact Player if it’s necessary.
One Impact Player from each club may be used throughout each game. It is not necessary, though. The Impact Player may or may not be used by teams.
Even if the team replaces an impact player, a player injured while fielding in the middle of an inning cannot continue to play.
If the impact player gets hurt during the game, a replacement fielder may only take his or her position if the umpires are pleased.
The stand-in is not permitted to bowl or serve as captain.
The substitute player will be subject to penalty time for the batting and fielding sides depending on the game’s circumstances.
