Today, in an event held at Olympic Bhawan, the Indian Olympic Association announced that Edelweiss Group will be the Principal Sponsor of Indian Olympic Association. During the announcement made along with another announcement of the Goodwill Ambassador, key members of Indian contingent to the Rio 2016 Summer Games, M C Mary Kom (Olympic medalist boxer), Sardar Singh (Captain, Indian Men Hockey Team), Ritu Rani (Captain, Indian Women Hockey Team), Apurvi Chandela (Shooting) and Manika Batra (Table Tennis) were present.
The Edelweiss Group, in this association with the Indian Olympic Association, offers through its Life Insurance joint venture entity, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, a Life Insurance cover of Rs One Crore for each athlete representing India at the Rio Olympics Summer Games.
Speaking about this new association, on the occasion which co-marked association with Mr. Salman Khan as the Goodwill Ambassador, Mr. Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General Indian Olympic Association said “I would also like to welcome Edelweiss as our Principal Sponsor and Li-Ning as an Apparel Partner for Rio Olympics.
“The preparations of our Indian athletes are in full swing and i am hopeful that India will win maximum medals this time”, he further added about the preparation of Indian contingent for the Rio 2016 Summer Games.
