Kolkata: I-League giants East Bengal is leaving no stone unturned as now, they have roped in Laldanmawia Ralte, who played a crucial role in Aizawl FC’s maiden I-League title win last season.
The 24-year old forward netted six goals in 15 fifteen matches last season and is one of the bright prospects in Indian football. This signing would indeed be a huge one for the Red and Gold brigade who have already secured the services of Trinidad and Tobago national team central defender Carlyle Deon Mitchell. The other two foreigners who have signed with the club are Willis Plaza and Syrian midfielder Mahmoud Amnah.
East Bengal also has their sights set on signing a goalkeeper and are in talks with Sanjiban Ghosh for donning the goalkeeper’s gloves for the upcoming season. According to sources, he is expected to join the team in a short while.
Meanwhile arch-rival club Mohun Bagan are in the lookout for a foreign striker to increase their goal scoring chances in the upcoming season. The Green and Maroon brigade are currently in talks with Cameronian striker Dipanda Dicka, who was the highest goal-scorer from last season when he represented Shillong Lajong FC.
But he has already been roped in by another club from Kolkata- Mohammedan Sporting Club only for the upcoming Calcutta Football League (CFL) after which he would be a free agent and would be able to pen down a deal with the former I-League champions.
The 28-year old Dicka had scored 17 goals last season and his addition to the Mohun Bagan squad will be a huge boost.
