China won at the 10m Air Rifle Women Final today at ISSF World Cup, thanks to the 25-year old rifle shooter Du Bei, who won gold and Shi Mengyao, 18 who secured silver.
The two made it a day for the Chinese team as they go their first gold after 6 out of 15 events conducted at the ISSF World Cup.
Du entered the scoreboard with 208.6 points, finishing atop of the eight-finalist pack with 3 tenths of margin on her teammate Shi. The silver medalist scored 208.3 points, .3 points behind Du and also establishing a new junior final world record.
Previous silver record was 207.9 set by Iran’s Najmeh Khedmati at the 2014 Asian Games. As per ISSF policies on the events, athletes in the junior class can indeed score junior records also while competing in senior events. Park Hae Mi of Korea scored 185.1 points to take bronze in her first appearance at the World Cup final.
