Biathlon is a sport which is played in eight disciplines viz. Individual, Sprint, Pursuit, Relay, Mixed Relay, Single Mixed Relay and Super Sprint.
The equipment used for the sport are Skis, poles, rifle. The sport is globally governed by International Biathlon Union (IBU).
The Sport combines cross-country skiing, or other forms of movement, with rifle shooting. The sport also includes roller biathlon (roller skiing and shooting), cross biathlon (running and shooting), bike biathlon (mountain biking and shooting) and snowshoe biathlon (snowshoe hiking and shooting).
