New Delhi: Wrestler Navjot Kaur who clinched a gold medal in the recently concluded Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek, jumped to second spot in the latest women’s 65kg category rankings released by United World Wrestling.
Navjot Kaur who became the first Indian woman to win the much coveted yellow metal, joined the list of another four Indian players in the UWW rankings.
Finland’s Petra Oly, the 2016 European Champion leads the 65kg category in the rankings.
Vinesh and Sangeeta Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik were among the other Indians in the UWW rankings.
Commonwealth Games gold-medallist Vinesh bagged the second position in his 50kg weight category. Sangeeta Pohgat on the other stood fifth in the 57kg weight category.
Bajrang Punia, under 65kg weight category, along with Sakshi Malik, under 62kg weight category, secured fourth place in their respective weight categories.
Meanwhile, United States’ world champion Adeline Gray ranked second in the 75kg weight category. While, Mongolia’s Mandakhran Ganzorig topped the rankings in the 74kg weight category.
