Mumbai: All is definitely not well for Indian middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane. After having a poor Test series against Sri Lanka and being ignored for the first two ODIs against the same opponents, an unfortunate news comes his way as his father has been arrested for his involvement in a car accident.
Madhukar Baburao Rahane, on Friday morning was arrested after his car hit a 67-year-old woman. The lady was taken to the government hospital for treatment but she succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead.
Reports reveal that Madhukar was travelling to Wakarli in Maharashtra via the Pune-Bengaluru highway with his family in a car which he was driving. The accident took place in Kagal area after he lost control of the vehicle while driving on National Highway 4. The woman, named Ashatai Kamble suffered serious injuries and despite being taken to the hospital, she died.
Madhukarkar has been booked for negligence while driving and under sections 304 A, 289, 337 and 338 but it is learnt that he has been granted bail.
