Kuantan: In the second match of the Asian Champions Trophy 2016, India held a challenging 1-1 draw against Korea in the Asian Champions Trophy today.
Starting off the first quarter, which saw India hold the possession of the ball to look comfortable at most times except a few chances that they conceded where Korea almost had the lead. And in the 11th minute, Korea started the scoreboard running via Jeong Junwoo to take the team to break leading 1-0.
India came back stronger in the second quarter, only to have their attempt thwarted by Korean defense. The teams went to halftime without any change to the scorecard.
Coming off the break, India employed a slightly different approach in attack as their wingers went wider, and they reduced the intricate play in the build-up and Lalit Upadhyay unleashed a reverse hit into the bottom corner after a series of passes to various players to draw India to level the score.
And then were attempts and counter attempts without any conviction to break the shackles as there were no further addition to the scoreboard and the teams had to satisfy with a 1-1 draw.
With the points from the previous match ans shared here India stay at second place in the table with four points, behind hosts Malaysia.
India will play against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23, 2016 at 4:00 PM IST. This match is going to be an interesting one coz of the environment between the two countries which are not so friendly at the moment.
