In the fifth edition of our Tokyo 2021 Summer Games series; today we talk about Anirban Lahiri, the Indian Golfer. Tokyo Olympics are the thirty second edition of the Summer Olympic & Paralympic Games which were initially scheduled in 2020 but the global pandemic Corona got it postponed by a year almost. Anirban Lahiri was born on June 29, 1987 at Pune, a city in Maharashtra State of India. Lahiri’s father Dr. Tushar Lahiri worked with the armed forces as a Physician. His mother is Navanita Lahiri and his wife is Ipsa Jamwal. This was about Anirban Lahiri’s family and personal life.
About Anirban Lahiri’s Career
Anirban Lahiri picked Golf as an eight year old and would turn professional in 2007. Lahiri would go on to play for Asian Tour and PGA Tour and win some tournaments like Panasonic Open 2011, SAIL-SBI Open 2012, SAIL-SBI Open 2013, CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2014, Venetian Macau Open 2014, Maybank Malaysian Open 2015 & Hero Indian Open 2015 in Asian Tours. He would go on to win Maybank Malaysian Open 2015 & Hero Indian Open 2015 in European Tours.
Anirban would be Rio bound in 2016 to embark on his first Olympics journey. Five years later, he would be part of the Indian Olympic Contingent at the Tokyo 2021 Summer Games. This was a brief about Anirban Lahiri’s sports career.
