MIES, Switzerland: The apex body of Basketball, FIBA, today, signed a partnership agreement with Junckers for FIBA EuroBasket 2017, a leading manufacturer of solid wood sports flooring.
Under the signed partnership, the Denmark-based company will serve as Official Technical Supplier of FIBA EuroBasket 2017. The partnership means that Junckers will supply custom-made and specially-designed wooden courts for the five venues that will host the biggest European basketball competition.
The company has provided sports flooring at EuroBasket 2009 and Olympic Basketball Tournament at the Athens 2004 Summer Games.
Speaking about the partnership, Frank Leenders, Director General- FIBA Media and Marketing Services (FMMS), said, “We are very pleased to welcome Junckers as the Official Technical Supplier of FIBA EuroBasket 2017. Thanks to its unique expertise, Junckers will deliver the participating teams first-class courts for the competition which will feature a new and inspiring brand identity across all the venues.”

The floor manufacturers have won the agreement with the world governing body for basketball which has 213 Member National Basketball Federations throughout the world after a Request of Proposal process involving all FIBA Venue & Equipment Centre partners in the category of wooden flooring. Out of all the bid received for the purpose, the Junckers suited the agreement contract clause the most and hence won the contract with FIBA for the EuroBasket 2017.
Junckers is represented in more than 50 countries, including the four host nations- Finland, Israel, Romania and Turkey – of the FIBA EuroBasket 2017.
