Dinesh Karthik
The Wicket-keeper Batsman Krishnakumar Dinesh Karthik reached to a level where he could be the premier wicket-keeping batsman for India for at least a decade, only to squander the chances and concede it to who would be the most successful Indian Captain, yeah, MS Dhoni. Karthik was part of Karaikudi Kaalai in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019 but would get just one match in the tournament edition. The Franchise team’s captain was a wicket-keeper batsman, meaning Karthik, despite his experience, had to sit out. Karthik has been playing IPL since the inaugural edition and has been a key member of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad of late. He, thus, is among the top TNPL Players in IPL 2021.
Ravichandran Ashwin
The Indian Off-spinner, who keeps on adding new deliveries to his arsenal of variety, was captaining Dindigul Dragons in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019. Ashwin would pick 8 wickets and score 136 runs from the tournament edition as his team would finish runners up in 2019. Among the top TNPL Players in IPL 2021 as he was an integral part of the Delhi Capitals franchise before he took a break to support his family members amidst rising COVID cases in the country.
Murugan Ashwin
Another Ashwin, but this one is a Leg Spinner. Chennai born Murugan Ashwin was part of Hemang Badani coached Chepauk Super Gillies in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019 as he would pick 8 wickets for his franchise. He would contribute a bit with bat for his team in the tournament edition scoring 88 runs. Murugan Ashwin is among the TNPL Players in IPL 2021 as he forms with Ravi Bishnoi, a 2 leg-spinner attack for Punjab Kings. Murugan Ashwin took 10 wickets for the franchise in IPL 2020.
Washington Sundar
The off spinning all-rounder Washington Sundar is known to keep it tight for the batsmen. Sundar was named captain of Tuti Patriots in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019 but couldn’t be part of the tournament edition as he was playing with India A and later on joined India’s limited overs team against West Indies. Among the TNPL Players in IPL 2021 as he would continue to form a leg-off spin pair with Yuzvendra Chahal for Virat Kohli‘s Royal Challengers Bangalore. With added confidence into his batting after few good international outings, Sundar would be keen to make his presence felt as RCB is still looking for their first title in Indian Premier League.
Thangarasu Natarajan
The Left arm medium pacer came into reckoning with his ability to consistently deliver yorkers at death in Indian Premier League. Thangarasu Natarajan would go on to have a surprise inclusion into all formats of international cricket in Indian team against Australia in Australia and he would impress with his bowling. Natarajan was part of Kovai Kings in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019 and would pick 10 wickets from the season. His team would finish fifth in the tournament edition and he would go on to represent TNPL Players in IPL 2021 as he would be part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021.
These were the Tamil Nadu Premier League Cricketers who made to Indian Premier League 2021, the ones who represent TNPL Players in IPL 2021. While Dinesh Karthik and Ravichandran Ashwin have been playing national and international competitions for quite a some time now, many others are on the way to stabilize their foot to that level and a few need some sparkling performances to get to the level.
