Today we bring you the footballers who hit the most goals in Euro 1976. The UEFA European Championship 1976 was the fifth edition of the European football tournament hosted by Yugoslavia during June 16- 20, 1976. Four teams qualified for the final tournament. A total of 4 matches were played in the tournament across 2 venues, tournament semifinals, followed by tournament final and 3rd place playoff. Czechoslovakia won their first UEFA Euro title. 3. Dragan Džajić
The SC Bastia Footballer was part of the Yugoslavia team since 1964. Dragan Džajić would hit 2 goals from matches he played during the tournament. With these 2 goals, this former Red Star Belgrade Footballer got himself among the footballers who scored the most goals in Euro 1976. His team, Yugoslavia, wouldn’t do much with his goals and those scored by Josip Katalinski & Danilo Popivoda as they’d not only lose in the semifinal, but also lose the 3rd place playoff to finish 4th in the 4 team UEFA Euro tournament. Džajić would go on to score 23 goals for Yugoslavia from 85 matches in his international career.
2. Ruud Geels
The AFC Ajax Footballer was part of the Netherlands team during 1974-1981. Geertruida Maria Geels would hit 2 goals from matches he played during the tournament. With these 2 goals, this Haarlem born former Club Brugge Footballer who had also played for Go Ahead Eagles, Feijenoord & SC Telstar, got himself among the footballers who scored the most goals in Euro 1976. His team, Netherlands, would go on to play the UEFA Euro 1976 semifinal at Stadion Maksimir, Zagreb against Czechoslovakia which they’ll lose 1-3 before winning the 3rd place playoff against Yugoslavia to finish 3rd. Willy van de Kerkhof was the only other goal scorer for his team. Geels would go on to score 11 goals from 20 matches in his international career.
1. Dieter Müller
The 1. FC Köln Footballer was part of the West Germany team in UEFA Euro 1976, was a part of the German team during 1976-1978. Dieter Kaster would hit 4 goals from the matches he played during the tournament. With these 4 goals, this Offenbach born Footballer got himself to lead the footballers with the most goals in Euro 1976. His team, riding on his performance and other goal-scorers like Heinz Flohe, & Bernd Hölzenbein would go on to play their second consecutive UEFA Euro 1976 tournament‘s final, only to lose 3-5 in penalties after 2-2 score in regular time.

Hosts Yugoslavia & Netherlands played the tournament 3rd place playoff and West Germany played against Czechoslovakia in the tournament final losing the contest of 90 minutes and the trophy. Czechoslovakia won their first UEFA Euro Tournament in a team performance as five of their footballers viz Karol Dobiaš, Zdeněk Nehoda, Anton Ondruš, Ján Švehlík & František Veselý scored in this tournament.
