Shikhar Dhawan, India (72 innings)
India’s swashbuckling left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is a surprise inclusion on this list, but he does have enough ammunition to fire himself up into the Top 5 of the fastest to 3000 ODI runs club.

Dhawan smashed his way to 3000 ODI runs in just 72 innings, achieving the feat against Australia in Canberra. He starred in India’s win in the Champions’ Trophy in England in 2013 and could well have a say in the World Cup of 2019 hosted by the same nation.
Gary Kirsten, South Africa (72 innings)
While he’s a World Cup winning coach with the Indian national team in 2011, Gary Kirsten was quite the man with the willow in his playing days.

Gordon Greenidge, West Indies (72 innings)
West Indies had their golden generation that ruled the World when it lived. It still lives in the memories of cricket fans. And one in that golden bunch was Gordon Greenidge.

Exquisite technique and fine temperament apart, Greenidge was also a true gentleman of the game, the second fastest West Indian to the 3000 ODI runs mark. He got to 3000 ODI runs in Peshawar against Pakistan in the winter of 1986.
Sir Vivian Richards, West Indies (69 innings)
Another legend, Viv Richards was adept at making batting look easy at a time when fierce bowlers existed and batting was probably the toughest bit of cricket.

Fearless and possessing a dire love for the game, Viv Richards got to 3000 ODI runs in just 69 innings against the mighty English at the time in Manchester in 1984.
Hashim Amla, South Africa (57 innings)
Fastest to 2000 ODI runs, fastest to 3000 ODI runs, Hashim Amla’s apetite for the game is endless. He seems to get better with age and like fine wine, should be preserved by the South African national team.
In India: Politics & Entertainment
Amla reached the milestone in just 57 innings, way faster than any other on this list against England in Southampton on 28 August 2012.
Amla still has a fair way to go before calling curtains as he represents tournament favorites South Africa in the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.
