Sentosa: The leading four players who finish in the top 12 and ties at the SMBC Singapore Open who are not already exempt will earn places in The 147th Open at Carnoustie, 15-22 July 2018.
The SMBC Singapore Open is the third event in The Open Qualifying Series and will be played from 18-21 January 2018 on the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club.
In the event of a tie for a qualifying place, the player with the higher ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) at the beginning of the week commencing 15 January will be awarded a place in The 147th Open.
Any player who has qualified through The Open Qualifying Series is deemed an exempt player. In the event that that player subsequently fulfils other exemption categories those places in the starting field will be subject to Section F of The Open Entry Form.
The 147th Open will be played at Carnoustie from 15-22 July 2018. The Open is golf’s oldest championship. Played since 1860 on iconic links golf courses, it is the sport’s most international Major Championship with qualifying events on every continent. For one week each year, the pursuit of the famous Claret Jug trophy is the focus of the sporting world, followed globally by millions of fans.
