Portsmouth bid farewell to Euro Winner’s Cup 2016 with a bang. They registered their only win of the tournament in their last match beating the Danish side Copenhagen BSC.
The match was an exciting affair. The Pompey’s even after falling behind the Danes on three occasion in the first half did not give up and each times the Danes went ahead they scrapped to get an equalizer ending the first frame at 3-3.
However, it was in the middle frame that Portsmouth took the match by its skin scoring 3 goals to take a 6-3 lead going into the third and final period. One goal each in the third period though was not enough to change the complexion of the match which ended in the favor of Portsmouth 7-4.
The victory though is nothing more than a consolation as it does not alter the tournament as Pompey’s have failed to progress further in the tournament.
