Kolkata: Secretary of the Cricket Association of Bihar, Aditya Verma continues in his endeavour to bring to book those, who according to him, has hampered the image of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In a letter to the head of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vinod Rai, Verma has demanded action against Amitabh Chaudhary, Jt. Secretary, BCCI and president, Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA). SportsCrunch is in possession of a copy of the letter.
In no uncertain terms, Verma has referred to Chaudhary as a “law broker of the country.” He has charged Chaudhary with having played a role in ensuring that Bihar loses its membership in the BCCI. “Due to his illegal act,” is the term Verma has mentioned in the letter. Verma also alleged through the letter that Chaudhary fraudulently changed the name of the Bihar Cricket association (BCA) to JSCA after the bifurcation of the state and also changed the area of operation of the erstwhile state of Bihar.
Calling Chaudhary the “main man of N Srinivasan,” Verma continued with his allegations that the 1985 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Jharkhand Cadre, Chaudhary, did not seek permission from the Government of India and the Bihar government to hold the elected posts in BCA, CAJ and JSCA from 2001 to 2013. Verma also alleged that in violation of rules, he used the official car with a red beacon. Chaudhary later took Voluntary Retirement after the High Court intervened in the matter.
Verma appeals to Rai to order a proper inquiry so that Chaudhary is forced to “vacate his chair.” Calling Chaudhary “the most corrupt official of JSCA and BCCI,” Verma also wrote that he never had any respect for law. Verma questioned Chaudhary’s credibility and also stated that by filing applications in the Supreme Court, men like Chaudhary are displaying their vested interests. In the end, Verma requested Rai to look into the matter and ensure that such officials’ motives were exposed.
Well, the game has just begun it seems and we will be waiting for a formal reaction from Chaudhary on this. Keep following this space.
