New Delhi: The Champion of Pro Wrestling League 2015 season, Odunayo Adekuoroye of Nigeria is looking forward to Pro Wrestling League– season two. Adekuoroye enthralled the Indian audience in the inaugural season of Pro Wrestling League. The season two of the cash rich Wrestling league is set to begin from December 15, 2016.
If you remember, Adekuoroye, who won the 2014 Commonwealth Games gold, was part of Revanta Mumbai Garuda team in PWL-1. Speaking about her preparations she said that she has been undergoing an intense training of 6 hours a day towards the preparation for the second season of Pro Wrestling League. When asked what in particular she’s working upon, she said, “I am working on my speed and strength and would expect myself to be in top shape for the second season of the league.”
Let’s not forget that after a forgettable Olympics appearance, Adekuoroye would like to score some points at the PWL 2016. At the Rio Olympics Sofia Mattsson defeated her in the first match. Since Mattsson is also part of the league, she’d like to avenge her loss at Rio.
On her possible bout against Sofia, she added, “I am looking forward to a bout against Sofia. She is a very tough opponent to beat but I will make sure that I train harder and take this as a challenge. I hope that I come out better on the mat this time around.”
Further talking about other wrestlers who she’ll look forward to be pitted against, she said, “Babita Kumari would be the one to watch out for as her performances have been very consistent. But without taking away anything from anyone, in Pro Wrestling League, I can’t underestimate anyone in my weight categories because I need to beat them all to ensure my team wins again.”
In the inaugural season of the Wrestling league, Odunayo’s team won the title and she is focussing on getting better for the second edition after recently visiting Germany for a training stint.
Concluding her statement, Adekuoroye stated,“The inaugural season of PWL was obviously a memorable one for me and I learned several things. I am gearing up for the second season to face new challenges.”
