Ayapana Toshibala Ngangom of India finished 12th in Women’s Taolu Gunshu event at the 14th Wushu World Championship, Kazan 2017.
Toshibala scored 9.13 points with her skills in the event. She also finished 24th in Taolu Women’s Changquan event.
Indonesian Felda Elvira Santso won the Gold medal of this event with 9.65 points. Japan’s Risa Ikeuchi (9.56) and China’s Xuxu Liu (9.55) won Silver and Bronze respectively.
In Gunshu event, a player uses staff as the main element to show martial arts skills. The word Gunshu came from Chinese word Gun which refers to a long Chinese staff weapon used in Chinese martial arts. It is known as one of four major weapons, along with the qiang (spear), dao (sabre), and the jian (sword), called in this group “The Grandfather of all Weapons”
