Russian Boxing Team thrashes Argentina Condors 5-0 in Buenos Aires
The Russian Boxing Team put them at the top of Group C with their impressive 5-0 rout of Argentina Condors. After their two tight away wins so far in Season VI, Russian Boxing Team is now four points clear at the top and with three home matches still to come, this franchise looks in control, with the Condors’ chase for second place starting with a tough return match in Moscow at the start of April.
Veteran Viacheslav Tashkarakov who stood for Ovik Ogannisian, won the first bout against the Argentina Condors’ flyweight Christian “La Joyita” Roda. Roda who won comprehensively against Venezuela’s Yoel Finol in Week 3, was against Tashkarakov who was keen to prove a point. The bout was one-sided in favor of Tashkarakov and by the time Roda came back in to contention, the judges were already in agreement and scorecard said 1-0 in favor of Russians.
Following this win and increasing the margin was Artur Subkhankulov, who proved equally effective at lightweight, and produced some amazing boxing skills and Brian Nunez went out of contention. The European giants gained a 2-0 lead, which changed to an unassailable 3-0 lead over the opponents after welterweight Maximiliano Ocampo’s brave effort against the brilliantly accurate attacks of Albert Karibian came to an end.
2015 AIBA World Championship bronze medalist Pavel Silyagin took this lead further to 4-0 as his long reach in the heavyweight category repeatedly found the target against a Condors Sergio Lebensztajn. The Argentine did well to fend off his opponent for long stretches, but brilliant combinations in the fourth round decided the result in Silyagin’s favor. The whitewash was eminent and was completed by walkover after the hosts’ veteran Facundo Cesar Ghiglione was unable to take ring in super heavyweight bout against Iaroslav Doronichev, taking the Russian franchise to the top of leagues table in group C.
