South Asian Games 2016 bronze medalist Anjul Namdeo finished 15th in Taolu Men’s Changquan event, while Ayapana Toshibala Ngangom finished 24th in Taolu Women’s Changquan event at the 14th Wushu World Championship, Kazan 2017.
Anjul scored 9.38 points in total. The gold medal was won by China’s Zhizhao Chang with 9.70 points, silver and bronze of the event were given to Indonesia’s Achmad Hulaefi (9.64) and Russia Pavel Muratov (9.63). Chirag Sharma and Aditya Kumar finished 22nd and 43rd with 9.18 & 8.59 points respectively.
In Women’s section Toshibala scored 8.86 points.
China’s Xue Wang won gold by securing 9.68 points. Hong Kong’s Xuxu Liu (9.66) and Macau’s Yi Li (9.64) won silver and bronze respectively.
Changquan is a martial art (Kung Fu) form. The Long Fist style is considered to contain a good balance of hand and foot techniques, but in particular, it is renowned for its impressive acrobatic kicks.
