5. Italy v Sweden, 2012 UEFA Euro Championships
Zlatan Ibrahimovic had spent a glittering 6 seasons in Italy and it was his time to pay homage to his adopted country wearing his national colors for Sweden. It was a Group stage game and Sweden badly needed a point to stay alive in the competition.
With the Italians leading 1-0, Sweden’s hopes looked all but crushed before the King stepped up and produced a delicate finish off a backheel past goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. The goal stood out for the fact that it proved to be Sweden’s most important goal in recent Euro history as they progressed to the knock-outs at the expense of Italy.

4. Anderlecht v Paris St. Germain, 2013-14 UEFA Champions League
At the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium against Champions League opposition Anderlecht, Zlatan displayed immense power and class to dispatch a volley from 30 yards out into the top corner of the Anderlecht goal.
The ball fell kindly for the Swede, but one can’t argue that he still had to have a calm head and put into effect brilliant technique to generate the amount of power and accuracy as he did on the shot.
The home crowd gave a standing ovation to the hero who had actually started off his career in Netherlands for Ajax.

3. Manchester United v Manchester City, 2016-17 Premier League
Zlatan had said ahead of this match that he’s bigger than City as a club, has more fans and has won more trophies. The Swede replicated his performance on the field in a 1-2 defeat for United when he volleyed home a mishandled clearance from City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

The goal ruined Bravo’s career and the Chile international probably still rues that horrific clearance that gave Zlatan the chance to equal scores that evening at Old Trafford.

2. France v Sweden, 2012 UEFA Euro Championships
Sweden were knocked out from the group stages of the 2012 Euros but it was Zlatan that produced what was possibly the Goal of the Tournament with a scissor kick from a cross from the right hand side of the pitch past French defender and AC Milan pal Phillip Mexes. The goal was important in the context that Sweden ran out 2-0 winners but it couldn’t stop Zlatan and Sweden from crashing out of the Euros, France and England progressing from the group instead.

The best goal of the lot, the goal that won the FIFA Puskas Award for its brilliance, the goal that stunned English players on the night – this is the goal of the decade as Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a bicyle kick from near the halfway line of the pitch that had altitude and flight, but somehow managed to drift into the English goal left open by Joe Hart in search of the goal.
