Today we bring you information about the SRH players eligible for mid-season transfers. Sunrisers Hyderabad, since coming into existence after termination of Deccan Chargers, who won the title under the leadership of Adam Gilchrist in the 2009 edition of the IPL, has been a consistent team in the IPL.
SRH has done a commendable job retaining a core group of their players for 3-4 seasons now. Their core group consists of players like David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar– international stalwarts who are known to be proven, performers.
Their players have been instrumental in attributing to the cause of their win in 2016 when the franchise won their second IPL title. This season Hyderabad did have a good start but they have faltered mid-way and lie at the bottom half of the IPL points table.
Their lack of consistent performances, despite a consistent Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar being ruled out of the tournament due to injury, and a brittle middle-order has been the main cause behind the lack of a complete performance from the outfit. Following are the list of SRH players eligible for mid-season transfers-
Wriddhiman Saha
The Indian Red-Ball Wicketkeeper has been kept as a backup option for the English Keeper-Batsman Jonny Bairstow. Despite being India’s best wicket-keeper for close to 5 years now, Saha has not been featured in the scheme of things lately since his batting prowess in the shorter version of the game has been somewhat of a hindrance.
Acceleration is the name of the game and Saha has not been known to provide it in the later stages of the innings. Moreover, SRH has relied more on Bairstow with the keeping gloves, and with the batting ability and the kind of exceptional form the England opener has been in for the last couple of years, it was hardly a doubt that he would feature in every game for the Hyderabad outfit. Fabian Allen (West Indies)
The explosive middle-order batting all-rounder has not been a part of the team because his captain Jason Holder has been relied on as a more complete option in this format of the game. Holder had been brought on as a like for like replacement of Mitchell Marsh, who was ruled out of the tournament due to the recurrence of an injury.
However, Allen has not been considered for the matches in which Sunrisers have played on slow and dry wickets. He has been impressive with his performances for West Indies in limited-overs cricket as well as in franchise T20 leagues like the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The lack of opportunities might prompt Allen to shift to a different franchise where he would get more opportunities and chances to showcase his talent. Billy Stanlake (Australia)
Billy has been impressive in the Australian domestic cricketing circuit picking up wickets at regular intervals and using his variations to the best possible advantage. His domestic performances in the shorter versions have also earned him a national call up with a successful run in the matches that he has played for the Australia T20 team.
However, he has fallen out of favor with the team management in SRH and thus has not been able to feature in the matches for the franchise in this edition of the IPL. With the tournament reaching the final stages there is a possibility that he might opt for a mid-season transfer to a different franchise. Among the SRH players eligible for mid-season transfers.
Siddharth Kaul
One of the most impressive performers for the Hyderabad outfit in the last couple of years, bagging truck-load of wickets in the powerplay as well as at the death, Siddharth has not been able to replicate his form in this season.
Despite being the first choice seamer in the strong Hyderabad pace attack comprising Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Sandeep Sharma along with him, he has not been part of the scheme of things this season. The team management has relied more on the Indian upcoming pace trio of Khaleel Ahmed, Basil Thampi, and T Natarajan on the majority of occasions.
