Kolkata: The iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata would play host to the first Test of Sri Lanka’s tour of India scheduled to take place from November 16 according to a report by ESPN Cricinfo.
This would be the first ever five-day match played by Sri Lanka at the historical venue. The island nation would tour India for a period of seven weeks and would compete against the hosts in three Test matches, three ODI’s and three T20I’s.
Sri Lanka would look to put on an improved show against India this time around after they were battered and clean swept 9-0 across all formats when India had toured the nation in August.
The second Test match would be played from November 24-28 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur and Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla would host the last five-day match from December 2-6.
However, only a four-day gap has been kept between the last Test and the first ODI. While the last Test fixture ends on December 6, the first ODI is on December 10 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala.
The second ODI would be played at the
Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali while the third and final one will be competed at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Mumbai’s Wankhede would host the final T20I of the three-match series with the first two scheduled to be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack and the Holkar Stadium in Indore respectively.
