When the going gets tough, the tough gets going
A seemingly cut-out quote for wrestler Narsingh Yadav who time and again was put under the scanner by National and World Anti-Doping Agencies(WADA) in his bid to come out clean.
After appeal by WADA in the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) against Narsingh’s participation, the hearing was scheduled for today at 9:30 IST. The Indian Olympic Association engaged a lawyer to represent Narsingh at the hearing before the CAS, held at the ad hoc office of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Rio de’janeiro.
Narsingh has been cleared by WADA and will be playing his first bout on Friday against French opponent Zelimkhan Khadjiev in the men’s 74kg freestyle wrestling. The veracity of the news was confirmed from several Rio sources by SportsCrunch.
Narsingh gave the hearing a miss as he was determined to prepare for his upcoming bout. He is considered a bright medal hopeful for India and more so after rightfully earning his berth in Rio against the two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar.
