Today we bring you the 22 players featuring in RCB Squad for IPL 2021. The Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore ended their 2020 Indian Premier League season as 4th in the team table. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium based side qualified for the playoff but couldn’t go even to the title clash, let’s see who are the 22 members of RCB Squad for IPL 2021.
Pavan Deshpande
Karnataka All-rounder Pavan Deshpande was picked by the Bangalore based franchise during IPL 2018 auctions. Deshpande has been, since then, waiting for his debut match as that would be the case for him as a member of the RCB squad for IPL 2021.
Shahbaz Ahmed
Mewat Born Bengal All-rounder was picked by the United Spirits owned franchise during Indian Premier League 2020. The Left arm orthodox bowler, Shahbaz picked two wickets from two matches he played during the tournament edition. Ahmed will be expecting more matches as a member of the RCB squad for IPL 2021, as he would like to impress the Indian captain Kohli, the RCB captain to push his career to international platform.
Sachin Baby
Kerala Left handed batsman made his Indian Premier League debut in 2013 though he wouldn’t impress people much in the four matches he played in the tournament edition. Sachin Baby had a little better season during IPL 2016 when he would get 11 matches wherein he would show some spark in his batting; he would pick a couple wickets as well. Since then Baby has been waiting for chances, though he got 3 matches in 2017, as that would be his motto as a part of RCB squad for IPL 2021.
Rajat Patidar
Madhya Pradesh Right handed batsman was the highest scorer for MP Cricket team in Ranji Trophy 2018-19, and that included a 196 as well. Picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore during Indian Premier League auctions 2020, Patidar will be looking for opportunities to prove his worth to the RCB squad for IPL 2021.
Mohammed Azharudeen
Namesake and fanboy of former India Captain, the Kerala swashbuckling batsman was recently in news for his 37 ball century against Mumbai during the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament in January. The stage was set for his IPL inclusion and that happened with Simon Katich coached side picking him to be a part of the RCB squad for IPL 2021.
Suyash Prabhudessai
Goan Cricketer Suyash Prabhudessai is among the young cricketers who would be looking forward to their IPL debut this season as a part of RCB squad for IPL 2021 after being picked during the auctions this year. Like any new cricketer to an IPL franchise, he has challenges ahead for his inclusion in the playing XI.
Kona Srikar Bharat
Andhra Wicket-keeper batsman KS Bharat may well be the reserve keeper with AB de Villiers taking care of duties behind the stumps this year as well for the RCB squad for IPL 2021. With Josh Philippe not going to be part of the tournament edition, KS Bharat may get lucky with some matches down his belt to push his case in front of the team management.
Kane Richardson
Australian Medium pacer Kane Richardson is looking forward to some chances to prove his mettle this IPL. He’s not new to the IPL tournament but hasn’t played many games during the three seasons he got games (2013, 2014, 2016). The Melbourne Renegades‘s Medium pacer could support Mohammed Siraj who’s fresh from his performances with Indian cricket team during the season.
Finn Allen
New Zealand Right-Handed Batsman was picked by the Royal Challengers to be a replacement for wicket-keeper batsman Josh Philippe who couldn’t join the team this season. Allen would be among the youngsters seeking their Indian Premier league debut as part of RCB squad for IPL 2021.
Adam Zampa
Australian Leg spinner wouldn’t get many games in the 2020 edition of the cash rich league but he picked wickets at will whenever he got chances. Zampa could be one of the four overseas players who may get the most matches for the Royal Challengers in Indian Premier League 2021.
Dan Christian
Australian All-rounder & T20 Specialist Cricketer Dan Christian was picked by the Sanjay Bangar consulted side to be part of the RCB squad for IPL 2021. The Royal Challengers would expect him to shine with both bat and ball for being one of the three top purchases by the team in terms of money involved.
Navdeep Saini
The Indian Pace Bowler was previously with the Delhi Capitals, but has been playing for the Bengaluru Franchise since IPL 2018. He had a good season in Indian Premier League 2019 when he picked 11 wickets but has a poor 2020 season. Navdeep Saini would like to better his performances with the team as a part of RCB squad for IPL 2021, something which can force his way back to the playing XI in the international team as well.
Mohammed Siraj
The Hyderabad and Indian Cricket team bowler has been playing the Indian premier League tournament since 2017. Siraj had a good IPL 2020 season and based on his performances there, he was picked for the Indian Cricket team for Australia, debuting there and impressing the team management right away. The pace bowler would be back to IPL fold as a key member of RCB squad for IPL 2021 with a boosted confidence and we might see a better season for him.
Kyle Jamieson
The New Zealand all-rounder is the most expensive purchase Kohli’s team did during the auctions for Jamieson to be part of RCB squad for IPL 2021. Royal Challengers won him in bid at a whopping 15 Crore Indian rupees and they’d expect a lot from the young cricketer this season as they are still searching for their first ever IPL trophy win.
Devdutt Padikkal
The Karnataka Left handed opener won the Emerging Player of the year award in IPL 2020 after smashing 473 runs from 15 matches. Padikkal was among the top run scorers in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 2020-21 and he would be eager to extend his good form to the Indian Premier league tournament. If the Bangalore side is able to get good opening stands, their chances of getting close to their first title win will increase.
Yuzvendra Chahal
The Delhi leg-spinner looked out of form in the T20 series against England this year and this is something he would like to change in remaining matches of the series as well as be the lead performers for the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season as one of the senior members of RCB squad for IPL 2021. Chahal picked 21 wickets in IPL 2020 as Bangalore would end their season as one of the four playoff teams.
Washington Sundar
The Tamil Nadu Cricketer has it in him to go places in his cricketing career. The fans’ & cricket pundits’ favorite since Australia tour and the performances with bat primarily, Sundar may well be the all-rounder to balance things in middle-lower order for the Vijay Mallya side. Kohli would, in particular, like him to take more responsibilities now.
Glenn Maxwell
The Australian All-rounder is a pale shadow of what he has on offer. A swashbuckling batsman who can pick some wickets here and there with his off spin bowling, Maxwell has promised sun & star, but delivered nothing close. Glenn Maxwell would like to change that and become what Chris Gayle was to the Virat Kohli’s team as a part of RCB squad for IPL 2021.
AB de Villiers
The South African iconic cricketer of recent times, AB de Villiers has been not only the crowd, but performances’ favorite in Indian Premier League cricket. Barring the 2017 season, AB has scored 400+ runs every edition he’s played since Indian Premier League 2015. The Bangalore franchise’s performance depends a lot on him & Kohli in batting and this is what he would have to do to take the team through to the playoffs this time as well.
Virat Kohli
The Champion cricketer has not yet become the IPL Champion and that is something Virat Kohli would like to change as a lead run scorer and captain of the RCB squad for IPL 2021. Virat has some milestone records to his name in the T20 tournament viz. the highest scorer of the Indian Premier League and the highest scorer in single edition of Indian Premier League.
