Today we bring you information about the RCB players eligible for mid-season transfers. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been the perennially underachieving team in the IPL history. Despite possessing some of the biggest names in world cricket over the years, they have never been able to go all the way and achieve the tag of becoming the IPL champions.
Although they have had patches of brilliant play, it has mostly revolved around the performance of one of their superlative players. What has hit RCB’s fortunes the most is their lack of collective team combination and play, which is instrumental in pursuing a title run. However, 2020 seems to be a good year for the Bangalore outfit, as they have already recorded seven wins and sit among the top teams in the IPL 2020 points table. The form of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, their marquee players have been of paramount importance to the team’s fortunes as has been for the last part of a decade as well.
The arrival of a premium T20 all-rounder in Chris Morris has bolstered the team stability and has ensured that RCB can hold onto their nerves and closeout matches with conviction. However, there have been some players who do not feature among the probable playing XI and are not expected to be a part of the team set up shortly as well. Following is a list of RCB players eligible for mid-season transfers-
Moeen Ali (England)
One of the most renowned all-rounders in both white-ball and red-ball cricket, Moeen although not in the best of shape for the last couple of years had been expected to be a vital cog in the RCB set up. With the slow pitches of UAE, drying up, and offering turn and bounce in the second session of play, Ali was expected to play the role of the second-choice spinner and give 4 overs to the RCB, something that was instrumental to their team’s strategy.
However, Moeen has not been selected in the playing XI for the longest time now and it is expected that RCB won’t change their winning combination to include him. Thus it is evident that Moeen is eligible for a mid-season transfer to a different franchise. Among the RCB players eligible for mid-season transfers.
Umesh Yadav
A man who was built as the most potent weapon of choice for a team like India who has already been over-reliant on exquisite batsmen over the years, Umesh was a prodigy that was expected to excel over time. But his inconsistent performances over the years and his nagging tendency to bowl erratically and bowl improper line and lengths cost the team dear.
Moreover despite being in the team set up for close to a decade now, he has not been able to carve out a place for himself in the regular playing XI. He has been with the RCB franchise for quite some time now. Yet the team has not utilized him properly. Moreover, he has not been effective enough to prove his worth and has thus been ignored by the franchise regularly. Among the RCB players eligible for mid-season transfers.
Pawan Negi
The left-arm spin bowling all-rounder who was picked up by Chennai at a whopping price, a few seasons before this one generated a lot of interest in the auction circle. But neither has he been able to live up to his billing nor has he been successful enough to justify the price tag that was invested in him.
Although Negi has been renowned in the domestic circuit for scoring runs and striking important blows when required, he has not been able to replicate that form for his playing franchise. This year he has not been a regular in the playing XI for the RCB. Among the RCB players eligible for mid-season transfers.
Parthiv Patel
The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman who has been around the circle for quite some time now found his mojo with the bat while representing RCB. He found new-found freedom while opening the batting and smashing his way to becoming a leading successful opener in the franchise for a few franchises.
This season though the ace South-African superstar batsman AB de Villiers has done the keeper’s gloves and has taken the mantle of responsibility behind the stumps on the majority of occasions. Thus Patel has not been featured regularly in RCB’s scheme of things. Among the RCB players eligible for mid-season transfers.
