Kolkata: Anureet Singh dished out a solid spell of bowling as his five wickets rattled the Assam batting, dismissing them for a paltry 55 to help Railways register a thumping victory by an innings and 184 runs in Guwahati on Friday.
Assam, who had fallen 239 runs short of the huge 483-run total didn’t put up any fight whatsoever as wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals. Wicketkeeper batsman Kunal Saikia top-scored with 16 runs while Amit Mishra and Deepak Bansal claimed two wickets each. Avinash Yadav took one wicket.
On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer who has been called up to the Indian team for the T20I series against New Zealand scored a magnificent 138 to help Mumbai draw their Ranji Trophy encounter against Tamil Nadu on the fourth day. Iyer’s 138-run knock included 11 fours and nine huge sixes while opening batsman Akhil Herwadkar too scored a wonderful ton (132).
