Profile | Mithali Raj is an Indian international female cricketer, who plays for the national women’s cricket team of India since 1999. She is the current captain of the national team in Test and ODI formats. She is one of the greatest cricketers of all-time in the history of the sport and the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket. Raj is the first woman cricketer in the world to reach the limit of 2000 runs in T20I format and the first-ever female cricketer to play 200 ODI matches in her two-decade-long career span. She started playing cricket at the age of 10 and took professional lessons from a local cricket club of her native place. At the age of 17, she established herself as a promising rising cricketer and picked by the national women’s cricket team of India progressively. She has played 2 World Cup tournaments in her career and made several records with her impeccable batting skills. In mid-2017, she became the highest run-scorer for the WODI format with a total of more than 6000 runs. Currently, she is playing as the player-coach of the Indian women’s national cricket team.
