Profile | Lahiru Thirimanne is an International Sri Lankan cricketer, who plays from the national side since 2010. He used to appear in all formats of the game and has captained the national Sri Lankan squad in ODI format as well. Later, Lahiru Thirimanne has restricted himself only in ODI and test formats. He is a top-order left-handed batsman and occasionally bowls in right-armed medium-fast style. Domestically Thirimanne plays cricket for the Ragama Cricket Club, at the primitive stage of his career. His impactful batting performance in Under-19 tournament for the U-19 Sri Lankan team gave him the recognition in domestic circuit and direct entry into the national squad in 2010. Lahiru Thirimanne is mostly praised for his technical expertise and finishing dexterities. Apart from that, this adept batsman of Sri Lanka is skilled in playing from both back-foot and front-foot sides equally. He may have seen some rough patches in his career by now, but his hard work helps him to give a fight back with his bad performances. That’s’ why he is back in the national team in 2018 after a short break and named in the Sri Lankan World Cup squad for 2019 successfully.
