Her father Harmandar Singh was an aspiring cricketer of his age and he gave Kaur her initial lessons of cricket at the beginning. She played a few domestic-level tournaments before her entry to the national team, made her international debut in 2009 at the age of 20. Kaur made her ODI and T20I debut both in the same year but she had to wait for 5 more years for her test debut. Finally, she made it in August 2014 against England but played only 2 matches in her career, and became an integral part of the national women’s team of India since then only for limited-over formats.
