Kolkata: The second edition of the Premjit Lall Invitational began with a bang as top seeded Ramkumar Ramanathan cruised to an easy win over rival Jeevan Nendunchezian beating him 6-3, 6-3 at the Jaidip Mukerjea Tennis Academy on Thursday.
Ramkumar would now take on Vijay Sundar Prasanth in the semi-final. The second seeded Sriram Balaji too had little problems in outplaying Tamil Nadu’s Sasikumar Mukund 6-0, 6-0.

Saketh Myneni, making a comeback from injuryemerged victorious in the feature match of the day as he got the better of doubles specialist Vishnu Vardhan 6-3, 6-3. He would now go toe-to-toe with the second seeded Balaji.
Prasanth had to fend off some tough competition in the form of Siddharth Rawat and eventually defeated him 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 to make it to the semis.

The tournament is conducted by the former legendary Indian Davis Cup captain Jaidip Mukerjea in memory of Indian tennis great and his close friend Premjit Lall. It was inaugurated on Thursday by Chinese Consul General Ma. Zhanwu in presence of former Mr. Asia, Mr. Sangay Tsheltrim. Also, Pritha Sarkar, the Commissioner Bidhannagar Corporation and Gyanwant Singh, the Commissioner of Bidhannagar Police were also present.
