With these bowling statistics, Siraj featured in the list of Cricketers with the most wickets in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21.
What is important to know about his performance is the fact that he debuted in the series once Mohammed Shami got injured and then after injuries to Umesh Yadav and further to Jasprit Bumrah, became the lead bowler. It was this match that Siraj took his fifer, at Gabba. He was one of the many bright things that happened to the Indian team in this season.

While the Australian team got the stability in bowling with Cummins and Hazlewood doing their best, they were held a bit by the ineffective Mitchell Starc who, despite the wickets he took, didn’t look his best self in the series.
These were the top wicket-takers in Border Gavaskar Trophy season 15. One interesting fact is that six bowlers went double figures with their wickets tally, Mitchell Starc being the other one. Virat Kohli led India lost the first match but stand-in captain from second test onward, Ajinkya Rahane & Coach Ravi Shastri made sure of this series becoming historical for India with almost everyone in the team rising to the occasion.
