Today we bring you the Cricketers who picked the most wickets in Asia Cup 2014. The Asia Cup was played in Bangladesh, with five team participating who played round robin matches and top 2 would go to the tournament final. 5. Mohammed Shami (India)

With these wickets, Shami featured in the top 5 list of the most wickets in Asia Cup 2014. His best was 4/50 against Bangladesh on February 26. India bowled first and held Bangladesh to 279/7 with Shami’s 4 and one each from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Varun Aaron & Ravichandran Ashwin. India, later on, chased down the target & won by 6 wickets. Captain Virat Kohli scored the highest individual score of the tournament with 136 while Rahane scored 73.

The Indian all-rounder would pick 9 wickets from the four matches he played for India in the ACC Asia Cup 2014 at an average of 18.55 & strike rate of 26.4. With these wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin featured in the top 5 list of the most wickets in Asia Cup 2014. His best was 3/31 against Afghanistan on March 5. Batting first, Afghanistan were bowled out for 159 with Ashwin’s 3, Ravindra Jadeja’s 4 & Mohammed Shami’s 2. India chased down the target with 8 wickets to spare. Shikhar Dhawan scored 60.
3. Ajantha Mendis (Sri Lanka)
The Sri Lankan Spinner Balapuwaduge Ajantha Winslow Mendis would pick 9 wickets from the three matches he played in the ACC Asia Cup 2014 at an average of 14 & strike rate of 17.3. With these wickets, Mendis featured in the top 5 list of the most wickets in Asia Cup 2014. His best was 4/60 against India on February 28, in the fourth match of the tournament. Batting first, India had scored 264/9 from their overs; Sachithra Senanayake took 3 while Mendis took 4. Sri Lanka chased down the target of 265 and won by 2 wickets.
2. Saeed Ajmal (Pakistan)
The Pakistan off-break bowler would pick 11 wickets from the five matches he played in the ACC Asia Cup 2014 at an average of 18.36 & strike rate of 26.7. With these wickets, Saeed Ajmal featured in the top 5 list of the most wickets in Asia Cup 2014. His best was 3/26 against Sri Lanka on March 8. Pakistan batted first & scored 260/5 with all five wickets going to Lasith Malinga. Sri Lanka chased down the target & won by 5 wickets. Ajmal took 3 of the five wickets fallen in Sri Lankan Innings.

The Sri Lankan Right-arm medium pacer Lasith Malinga would pick 11 wickets from the four matches he played in the ACC Asia Cup 2014 at an average of 17.18 & strike rate of 19. With these wickets, Malinga led the top 5 list of the most wickets in Asia Cup 2014. His best was 5/52 against Pakistan on February 25. Sri Lanka had scored 296/6, batting first, with Lahiru Thirimanne’s 102. Pakistan, in reply, could reach only 284, conceding a 12 runs win to Sri Lanka. Malinga took 5 while Suranga Lakmal took 2.
Bangladesh had hosted the tournament edition, and these were the top wicket-takers of ACC Asia Cup 2014.
