Today we bring you the Cricketers who scored the most runs in Champions Trophy 2017. The 2017 ICC Champions Trophy was played during June 1-18, 2017; 15 matches were played in the tournament. This was the eighth edition of the ‘mini’ Cricket World Cup run by ICC and the edition was hosted by England. Eight teams were part of the 2017 ICC Mini World Cup viz. India, Pakistan, South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia, Bangladesh, & Sri Lanka. Pakistan won their first ICC Champions Trophy title. Hasan Ali led the wickets table. 5. Virat Kohli (India)
Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli scored 258 runs from the five matches he played in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 tournament with an outstanding average of 129 and best score of 96 not out coming against Bangladesh at Edgbaston, Birmingham on June 15 in the second semifinal of the tournament. With these runs & 3 fifties, Kohli featured into the top 5 list of most runs in Champions Trophy 2017. In his best innings match, India had restricted Bangladesh to 264/7 from their 50 overs with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah & Kedar Jadhav picking 2 wickets each. India chased down the target & won by 9 wickets. Rohit Sharma top scored with 123 not out as he & Kohli (96 not out) finished the chase.
4. Joe Root (England)
England Batsman Joseph Edward Root would score 258 runs from the four matches he played in the tournament with an average of 86 and best score of 133 not out coming against Bangladesh at Kennington Oval, London on June 1, in the first semifinal. With this run aggregate and two fifty plus scores, Root featured in the top 5 list of most runs in Champions Trophy 2017. In his best score match, Bangladesh batted first and scored 305/6 with Tamim Iqbal’s 128 & Mushfiqur Rahim’s 79. Liam Plunkett took 4 wickets. England chased down the target & won by 8 wickets; Alex Hales scored 95 while Joe Root (133 not out) & Captain Eoin Morgan (75 not out) finished the chase for England. Root’s highest score was apparently the highest individual score of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

3. Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh)
Bangladesh Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal scored 293 runs from the four matches he played in the tournament with an average of 73.25 and best score of 128 coming against England on June 1 at Kennington Oval, London. With this run aggregate & three fifty plus scores including a hundred, Tamim featured into the top 5 list of most runs in Champions Trophy 2017. In his highest score innings match, Bangladesh lost to England who chased 300 plus score and won by 8 wickets.
2. Rohit Sharma (India)
Indian Opening Batsman Rohit Sharma scored 304 runs from the five matches he played in the tournament with an average of 76 and best score of 123 not out coming against Bangladesh on June 15 in a successful chase which also saw Virat scoring 96 not out. With these runs, a hundred & two fifties, Rohit featured into the top 5 list of most runs in Champions Trophy 2017.
1. Shikhar Dhawan (India)
Indian Opening Batsman Shikhar Dhawan scored 338 runs from the five matches he played in the tournament with an average of 67.60 and best score of 125 coming against Sri Lanka on June 8 at Kennington Oval, London. Dhawan scored a hundred & two fifties, as he would score the most runs in Champions Trophy 2017. In his highest score match, India had batted first and scored 321/6 with Shikhar Dhawan’s 125, Rohit Sharma’s 78 & MS Dhoni’s 63. Sri Lanka chased down the target & won by 7 wickets; Danushka Gunathilaka (76), Kusal Mendis (89) & Angelo Mathews (52 not out) won it for their team.
These were the top scorers in the eighth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, in 2017, the ones who made to the top 5 list of runs-scorers in ICC Champions Trophy 2017. It was a round robin group stage tournament followed by KnockOut stage with 8 teams divided in two groups of 4 members each with each member team playing round robin matches against each other and top two teams of the two groups would progress to the semifinals and then the winning 2 would go to tournament final to fight out for the trophy.
