The top run-getter of the tournament – Rahul Dravid played with responsibility. It was his second century of the World Cup & it had shown the batting strength of the Indian team. His 145 runs came off 129 balls with 17 fours & 1 six and he had a record-breaking 318 runs partnership with Sourav Ganguly that had influenced the team’s performance.

1. Sourav Ganguly
One of the scintillating knocks played during the World Cup tournament. Ganguly played his natural game that made Sri Lankan bowlers look helpless & out of form. His 183 runs – highest by an Indian off 156 balls included 17 fours & 7 towering sixes across the ground. His 318 runs partnership with Dravid brought India back in the game.
