Former Rosario Central Footballer Mario Alberto Kempes Chiodi would go on to score 22 goals for Valencia Club de Fútbol during the 1979-80 tournament. His team would finish sixth in the team table of the tournament winning 19, losing 8 & drawing 7 and qualify for the Cup Winners’ Cup first round. Valencia Club de Fútbol would score 50 goals while they concede 42 goals in the tournament edition.

Former Racing Santander Footballer Carlos Alonso González would score 23 goals for Real Madrid Club de Fútbol during the 1979-80 tournament. With these goals, the Spanish Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in La Liga 1979-80. The Bernabéu based side would win the tournament edition, winning 22, losing 3 and drawing 9 and qualify for the European Cup first round. Real Madrid would score 70 goals while they’d concede 33 as they’d have the highest goal difference.

Former Club Deportivo Ensidesa Footballer Enrique Castro González would go on to score 24 goals for the Real Sporting de Gijón during the 1979-80 tournament. With these goals, the Spanish Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in La Liga 1979-80, in fact leading the list. The El Molinón-Enrique Castro based team would finish third in the team table winning 16, losing 11 and drawing 7 matches in the season and qualify for UEFA Cup first round. Gijón would score 47 goals, while they would concede 34 goals in the tournament edition.
