The ace shooter, who not only owns the world record in 50M Pistol (Men), and has won 19 World Cup and World Championship golds prior to this event, will rewrite history if he claims his fourth Olympic title.
He won today’s final in 50M Pistol with a margin of 5 points over the silver medalist Zheng Bowen while Daemyung Lee collected today’s Bronze.
In an awesome display of shooting skills, Jong amassed 192.4 points, with Zheng on 187.9 points, 4.5 points behind the winner and Daemyung Lee at 167.1 points.
This gold was his third world cup medal of the season out of four stages. Jin had also secured a silver at the pre-Olympic world cup in Rio de Janeiro, as well as a Bronze at the world cup stage in Munich. This brings his overall personal world cup counter up to 23 medals.
