Delhi: PKL- 4 semifinals weren’t mere Kabaddi matches these were two thrillers between the four teams. Patna Pirates- Puneri Paltan & Telugu Titans- Jaipur Pink Panthers set the Kabaddi mat on fire with their aggressive strategies and mind games. At the end it was experience of Jasvir and teamwork of Patna which lead them into the final of Pro Kabaddi League- 4. Jaipur the winner of season 1 and Patna the defending champions will be playing in their second final. As a reputation for teams going into the finals, both teams have won the finals, so it can be anyone’s game on Sunday, 31st July.
In the first match between Pune and Patna, both teams were playing mind games on the mat. While Pune didn’t let Pardeep Narwal to play in the first half; on the other hand, Patna took the super tackles way to win the match. Every time Pardeep Narwal came for raid it was Manjit Chillar who was tackling him and Pardeep was also targeting Manjit only. Patna Pirates overpowered Puneri Paltan in second half to reach PKL-4 final for the consecutive time. It’s the team of Patna Pirates who made it to all semi-final stages of Pro Kabaddi League. Adding to their advantages, in all the seasons Patna Pirates have won matches scoring on super tackles. The super tackles points by Iranian pair of Fazal and Abofazal led Patna to their consecutive final. However, for wrong tackle Fazal was sent to bench for two minutes leaving Patna with 6 member team only but Puneri Paltan were not able to take the advantage of this situation and stayed behind in the match. Manjit Chillar was so upset that he didn’t even come from bench to shake hands. Patna topped the league table and assured that the final on Sunday will be memorable for all.
In the second final played between Jaipur & home team Telugu Titans, it was experience of Jasvir that lead Jaipur for their second final of Pro Kabaddi League. It is the love & respect of Jaipur team mates who call Jasvir ‘Chacha’ and this experienced player stood tall against the home team. The 130+ raid points of Rahul Chaudhari went in vain when he was not able to take his team for the first final ever. It was big upset for the home crowd as they will not see their team on Sunday’s final. The first half of the match was a close encounter between the two teams as Titans were leading with just one point. The match situations changed in the second half when Jaipur closed the gaps and won it with difference of 10 points. Last minute efforts by Rahul took the match to a place when the gap was filling or else Jaipur may have won with more difference points. The commentator and umpires whistles were not audible as the home crowd was cheering for the team but efforts were wasted by Telugu Titans.
This Sunday again the stadium will be on fire and the Kabaddi mat will be burning as Jaipur & Patna would like to make history by winning the title again. The finale will mark curtains for PKL season 4 and the wait for PKL-5 will take stage. After IPL it’s PKL that is dragging everyone’s attention because it’s quick, thrilling and every second is made count. The PKL 4 has seen many changes in teams and players as many evolved and few flops. Let’s hope that after the Sunday’s final the Game will be ON!!!
