Today we talk about the IPL players not seen in IPL 2021. Indian Premier League has helped the cricketers extend their exposure both as they’d get some valuable learning tips from team colleagues and the exposure against different kind of opponents.
Indian Premier League has brought Indian cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya to International Fame and has given other cricketers like James Faulkner the exposure to reach international level. In addition, it has also given extension to the career of experienced cricketers, here we talk about a few important IPL Players not seen in IPL 2021.
Shane Watson
The Chennai Super Kings Opener and key member Shane Robert Watson was released prior to Indian Premier League 2021 auctions as the cricketer bid good bye to his cricketing career recently. One of the name of prominence in IPL Cricket, Shane Watson has scored over 3500 runs in the tournament and also picked 92 wickets as well. The All rounder gathered 543 runs & 13 wickets in 2013 & 555 runs in 2018; he went on to pick 17 wickets in 2008 & 20 wickets in 2016. Watson is among the important IPL Players not seen in IPL 2021.
Lasith Malinga
The architect of MI’s all IPL title wins till 2019, Lasith Malinga has been a revelation at the most popular tournament of the shortest format leagues. The swing first up and deadly yorkers at death has bamboozled batsmen all over as the bowler would gather 170 wickets from 122 matches he played in the T20 league. With more than 10 wickets at every season and 20 or more wickets in trophy winning seasons, he has been the bowler to go to for the Mumbai team management.
The pace bowler would be the bowling spearhead for the team until the Bumrah–Boult pair would be ready to take over for this most successful IPL franchise, Lasith Malinga is among the IPL Players not seen in IPL 2021.
Mohit Sharma
The Faridabad born Haryana Cricket team bowler first claim to fame was as a bowler who was too tough to hit coz of variation in his speed. He was part of the CSK and won plenty many matches for the franchise under Dhoni. His performances got him to international cricket as well, but he couldn’t extend his stay at the national cricket team and soon was out of favor in IPL as well. Sharma was playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020, but couldn’t get more that one match as the season saw a splendid bowling partnership between Rabada & Nortje.
Till 2020 Mohit has taken 92 wickets from 86 matches with just one four wicket haul that dates back to IPL 2014. He might make a comeback in 2022’s mega auctions, but it is less likely in presence of too many Indian bowlers who have performed well and then there are overseas bowlers who would also take up some positions in 25 member squads. Mohit Sharma was released prior to 2021 mini auction and wasn’t picked by any team, so would be among the IPL Players not seen in IPL 2021.
Mitchell McClenaghan
The Kiwi Left-Arm Fast Bowler was part of Mumbai Indians during IPL 2015-2019 and had good seasons in first four seasons of his Indian Premier League career. The Wankhede based side won 3 out of these five seasons with McClenaghan taking 18 & 19 wickets in two of their trophy winning seasons. He wouldn’t get many matches in IPL 2019 and wickets tally would also be less that season. McClenaghan was released prior to IPL 2021 auctions as he joins the list of IPL Players not seen in IPL 2021.
Dale Steyn
The South African Legendary bowler has withdrew from the ongoing edition of IPL though he has denied any proceed towards retirement. Dale has been an important member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore think tank of late though he has played previously for Sunrisers Hyderabad and defunct Deccan Chargers. Steyn has 97 wickets from 95 matches in IPL cricket as he would be among the IPL Players not seen in IPL 2021.
