Vinoo Mankad
Indian Legendary Allrounder Mulvantrai Himmatlal Mankad, on June 23, 1952, scored 184 against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the second innings of the second test of a 4 match series which India was trailing 1-0. Mankad had score 72 in the first innings as well. India couldn’t win the match but this innings got registered in the Lord’s honours board and so was Mankad who started the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
Dilip Vengsarkar
Indian Middle order Batter Dilip Balwant Vengsarkar, would score 3 centuries at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the first Indian to do so. Vengsarkar, on August 2, 1979, scored 103 against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the second innings of Indian batting. His innings would help India draw the match and Vengsarkar got his name registered in Lord’s honours board and to the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords. His other two centuries would come in 1982 & 1986 with 1982’s knock resulting in a loss while the third century resulted in a win.
Gundappa Viswanath
Indian Cricketer Gundappa Ranganatha Viswanath is recalled for his sublime wrist work while batting. Viswanath, August 2, 1979, scored 113 and added 210 runs with Dilip Vengsarkar to bail India out of what could be a defeat. With their partnership, India drew the match and this innings got registered in the Lord’s honours board and in the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
Ravi Shastri
Indian Allrounder Ravishankar Jayadritha Shastri, on July 28, 1990, scored 100 against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the first innings. It was a test of centuries at Lords as 6 centuries were reached, 4 for the hosts, during the 8 hours of play. India lost the match but this innings got registered in the Lord’s honours board and Shastri was added to the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
Mohammad Azharuddin
Former Indian Cricket team’s Captain Mohammad Azharuddin, on July 28, 1990, scored 121 against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, in the first innings of India in a loss. This innings got registered in the Lord’s honours board and so was Azhar who got added to the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
Sourav Ganguly
Former Indian Cricket team Captain Sourav Chandidas Ganguly, on June 22, 1996, scored 131 against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the second innings of the second test of a 3 match series on an India tour of England which India was trailing 1-0. Rahul Dravid, who made 95, missed out on being he debutant with a century at this ground. Ganguly became the 10th Indian Cricketer to score century in debut test, and 7th Indian Cricketer to do so in his debut innings. India drew the match but this innings got registered in the Lord’s honours board and Ganguly was added on the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
Ajit Agarkar
Indian Medium Pacer and lower order batter Ajit Bhalchandra Agarkar, on July 29, 2002, scored 109 not out against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the second innings of the first test match. This was the only century Agarkar made in his entire test career and the only century by any Indian Cricketer in this match. India lost the match but this innings got registered in the Lord’s honours board and so was Agarkar who got added to the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
Rahul Dravid
Indian Test Cricket Legend Rahul Sharad Dravid, who missed out on a century (on debut) in 1996, got his name added to the Lord’s honours board in against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the first innings of the first test match when he score 103 not out. India couldn’t win the match but Rahul Dravid got added to the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
Ajinkya Rahane
Indian Middle order batter Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane, on July 17, 2014, scored 103 against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the first innings of the second test of a 5 match series which India was leading 1-0. His hundred would prove crucial for the team as India would win this match by 95 runs with him being the only centurion for India. His innings got registered in the Lord’s honours board and Rahane was added to the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
KL Rahul
Indian Cricketer Kannur Lokesh Rahul, on August 12, 2021, scored a hundred against hosts England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London in the first innings of the second test of a 4 match series. Rahul would finish his innings at 129 on the Day 2 of the match as this innings would get registered in the Lord’s honours board and Rahul would get into the list of first 10 Indian cricketers with Test 100 at Lords.
