What an awesome debut season it has been for the Indian boxing sensation Vijender Singh; 6 wins in as many bouts, like any fairy tale start to any career. Singh in a red-hot winning streak, blew away Andrzej Soldra at the Macron Stadium in Bolton few minutes back to claim his sixth win of his professional boxing career.
In a bout which was first of its type for being an eight round fight, as far as the six match professional boxing career, the Bhiwani born Pugilist stopped Soldra in the third round itself.
Speaking about the win, the Indian Boxing Marvel said “I am thrilled to get my sixth professional victory and excited for my homecoming title fight.”
Speaking further about the opponent boxer Soldra, he spoke,”Soldra was a good opponent but my punches replied to him. I think this fight was a horror show for him.”
On his sixth win on professional career, he further added”I am happy that before my title fight, I am able to have six knockout wins. By winning first eight round fight, my confidence level has really gone up and this is a step forward heading towards title fight”. The polish middleweight champion couldn’t stand the challenge of the Indian as the bout couldn’t go further to the third round.
Glad with the support he got in UK, the Indian Boxer thanked the crowd and said,“The support I have received from everyone here in UK and back home in India has been absolutely phenomenal.”
The red-hot super middleweight ace is an icon in his homeland and his summer hero’s return will be a national homecoming event. Speaking on his homecoming, he added,” Now I will start preparing for my title fight in India. I am happy I will fight in front of my home crowd soon.”
Speaking about the Indian Pugilist, the British trainer Lee Beard said “He is a true talent of professional boxing. I am happy with his performance so far and he will go long way. He is very hard working boxer”.
