Ireland, on their chase, bundled out for 210 with Kyle Abott taking 4-for.
9. 248 (Alex Hales, Joe Root)
English Batsmen Alex Hales & Joe Root haven’t played much cricket together. On August 30, 2016, the two batsmen came together at the fall of Jason Roy’s wicket against Pakistan. They went long and explosive as they clubbed 248 off 193 balls at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. England scored 444/3 from their 50 overs with Buttler & Morgan doing the late fireworks.
While Hales scored a 122 ball 171 with 22 fours & 4 sixes, Root scored a 86-ball 85 with 8 fours. Hales scored 154 off 109 balls in the partnership, Root scored 84 off 84. Pakistan, in reply, were bowled out for 275 with Chris Woakes taking 4-for.
8. 250 (Andrew Strauss, Jonathan Trott)
England batsmen Andrew Strauss & Jonathan Trott haven’t even scored 2000 partnership runs together in ODIs. On July 12, 2010, the two batsmen came along against Bangladesh after fall of Craig Kieswetter’s wicket. The two then went on long as they added 250 runs off 241 balls at Edgbaston, Birmingham. England scored 347/7 from their 50 overs with Ravi Bopara providing late fireworks.

While Strauss scored a 140 ball 154 with 16 fours & 5 sixes, Trott scored a 121-ball 110 with 12 fours. Strauss contributed 132 off 120 balls in the partnership, whereas Trott added 110. Bangladesh, on their reply, bundled out for 203 with Bopara taking 4-for.
7. 252* (Shane Watson, Ricky Ponting)
Australian Shane Watson & Ricky Ponting haven’t had too many runs together. The two batsmen, on October 2, 2009, came together after fall of Tim Paine against England and went on to score unbroken 252 off 242 balls. They were following a target of 258.
While Watson scored a 132 ball 136 with 10 fours & 7 sixes, Ponting scored a 115-ball 111 with 12 fours & a six. In their partnership Shane contributed 134 off 127, whereas Ponting added 111. The partnership is 7th on top 10 of the highest ODI partnership for the second wicket. The partnership also happen to be the second highest partnership for the second ODI wicket by any Australian Pair.
6. 257 (Saleem Elahi, Abdul Razzaq)
Pakistani batsmen Saleem Elahi & Abdul Razzaq haven’t had many runs together. The two, however, on December 11, 2002, came together after fall of Shahid Afridi against South Africa and went on to add 257 off 240 balls. Pakistan finished with 335/6 from their overs with Inzamam providing late blitzkrieg.

5. 260 (David Warner, Steve Smith)
Australians David Warner & Steve Smith have already won matches many together and individually. The two, on March 4, 2015, went offensive against Afghanistan and amassed 260 off 205 balls. They came together after fall of Aaron Finch at WACA Ground, Perth in an ICC Cricket World Cup match. Australia finished with 417/6 from their 50 overs with Maxwell providing final touch with a 39 ball 88.
While Warner scored a 133 ball 178 with 19 fours & 5 sixes, Smith scored a 98-ball 95 with 8 fours & a six. Warner contributed with 170 off 124 in their partnership, whereas Smith added 81 off 85. The partnership is 5th on top 10 of the highest ODI partnership for the second wicket. The partnership also happen to be the highest partnership for the second ODI wicket by any Australian Pair. Afghanistan, on their chase, couldn’t go past 142 with Mitchell Johnson taking 4-for.
4. 263 (Aamer Sohail, Inzamam-ul-Haq)
Pakistan Batsmen Aamer Sohail & Inzamam-ul-Haq quite a few matches together, but mostly at different order. These two, on April 20 1994, came together at fall of Saeed Anwar against New Zealand. They went on to gather 263 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in an Austral-Asia Cup semifinal match. Pakistan finished at 328/2 from their 50 overs.

While Sohail scored a 146 ball 134 with 13 fours, Haq scored a 129-ball 137 with 15 fours. The partnership is 4th on top 10 of the highest ODI partnership for the second wicket. The partnership also happen to be the highest partnership for the second ODI wicket by any Pakistan Pair. New Zealand, in reply, couldn’t go farther than 266/7.
3. 318 (Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid)
Indians Sourav Ganguly & Rahul Dravid have scored over 4000 partnership runs together. These two, on May 26, 1999 came together at the fall of Sadagopan Ramesh against Sri Lanka in an ICC Cricket World Cup match. The two went on showcasing their prowess with bat at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton to gather 318 off 270 balls. India finished their innings at 373/6.
While Sourav scored a 158 ball 183 with 17 fours & 7 sixes, Dravid scored a 129-ball 145 with 17 fours & a six. The partnership is 3rd on top 10 of the highest ODI partnership for the second wicket. The partnership also happen to be the second highest partnership for the second ODI wicket by any Indian Pair. This stayed the highest ODI partnership for any wicket for five months before Dravid joined Tendulkar to add more to the record. Sri Lanka, in reply,were bowled out for 216 with Robin Singh taking fifer.
2. 331 (Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid)
Indians Sachin Tendulkar & Rahul Dravid also have paired together for over 4000 partnership runs. These two, on November 8, 1999, came together after fall of Sourav Ganguly against New Zealand. The two went on all guns blazing at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Hyderabad as they pocketed 331 runs off 278 balls. India finished their innings at 376/2.

While Sachin scored an unbeaten 150 ball 186 with 20 fours & 3 sixes, Dravid scored a-run a ball 153 with 15 fours & 2 sixes. This stayed the highest ODI partnership for any wicket for a good 15 years. The partnership is 2nd on top 10 of the highest ODI partnership for the second wicket. The partnership also happen to be the highest partnership for any wicket by any Indian Pair. New Zealand, in reply, were bowled out for 202.
1. 372 (Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels)
West Indies Batsmen Chris Gayle & Marlon Samuels haven’t scored a lot together. These two, however, came together on February 24, 2015, to gather 372 off 303 balls against Zimbabwe. Samuels had joined Gayle after fall of Dwayne Smith at Manuka Oval, Canberra in an ICC Cricket World Cup match. Windies scored 372/2 from their overs.
While Gayle scored a 147 ball 215 with 10 fours & 16 sixes, Samuels scored a 156-ball 133 with 11 fours & 3 sixes. The partnership is atop on top 10 of the highest ODI partnership for the second wicket. The partnership also happen to be the highest partnership for any ODI wicket by any West Indies Pair. Zimbabwe, on their chase, were bowled out for 289.
