Today we talk about commentators in IPL 2020. The Indian Premier League is in its 13th edition and is expected to be the cracks of a contest as it has been for the past 12 years. Owing to the pandemic, the location and the setting of the IPL have changed from India to the United Arab Emirates where a biosecurity bubble environment has been created in which the players are being made to go through several critical stages of Coronavirus identification test and other periphery tests required.
For this reason, the stadium has been kept completely devoid of fans to maintain the social distancing norms. Even the commentators for the tournament have not been allowed to travel to the UAE, the venues where the IPL matches would be held. The commentators would be broadcasting live from their studios in respective locations in India.
Like previously, two sets of commentators apart from the regional channels commentators have been employed during the live telecast of the IPL games. The first group of commentators includes those who commentate in English while there are the prime regional channels in Hindi where the Indian commentators commentate. Thus the following are the lists of the commentators in IPL 2020 who would be appearing on the Television.
English Commentators
The English commentary panel would principally comprise of legendary figures in International cricket like Sunil Gavaskar, Kevin Pietersen, and Kumar Sangakkara. Some of the other eminent commentators who would be giving them the company would be Simon Doull, Ian Bishop, Michael Slater, Danny Morrison, Deep Dasgupta, Rohan Gavaskar, Pommie Mbangwa, Darren Ganga, L Sivaramakrishnan, and Murali Kartik. All the commentators in the international or English panel have represented their national teams for a considerable period. Some of them have not only become famous names with the bat and ball but also with the microphone in hand. The English commentary panel would also feature some of the finest cricket analysts of all time in the form of India’s long time number one Harsha Bhogle and the most legendary Australian commentator after Sir Richie Benaud, Mark Nicholas. Their insightful commentaries on the game have had major learning at this age for the young cricket lovers who aspire to become a cricketer as they grow up.
Regional/Hindi Commentators
The regional or Hindi commentary panel would be as exciting as well since we would be graced by the presence of former Indian players like Sandeep Patil, Kiran More, and Sanjay Bangar. We would also get ideas and insights about the environment of the team dressing room in India and the camaraderie the players are used to having between each and other.
Other regular figures that would be seen constantly on the panel would be former Indian players like Ashish Nehra and Irfan Pathan. Two of the most talented left-handed bowlers India has ever produced, both of them were masters at swing bowling and could pick up wickets at regular intervals. With the microphone in their hand, Ashish Nehra and Pathan Junior are as entertaining as ever and the stories they would share about their dressing room days would be an absolute delight for the crowd to hear. Among the Hindi commentators in IPL 2020.

Akash Chopra whose stint with the Indian team could not be as illustrious as some of his Delhi contemporaries has carved out a definite niche for himself in the commentary box. His Hindi commentary would add more mileage to the coverage as along with his insightful comments on the events taking place on the cricket field. Thus although the crowds are unable to attend the matches live in the stadium, they can take the opportunity of enjoying the stadium-like atmosphere right from their home as well.
