The current Premier League champions Chelsea and Europa League triumphant Manchester United are looking to increase their squad depth and welcome in new recruits for their Champions League return after a one year absence.
Inter Milan winger Ivan Peresic has come to the spotlight for his man of the match highlights and displays for the Croatian National Team during the Euros 2016. It is reportedly said that ever since then, current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been keeping tabs on the winger and even had two minds on signing him in the January Transfer Window.
According to sources working for Sky Sports, Manchester United have already put a £36 million deal on the table and already received a counter offer between £55-£60 million. Sky Italy on the other had are reporting that Chelsea are now part of the chase since Peresic has also caught the eye of Antonio Conte.
With potential title rivals Premier League Manchester City already busy with incomings and outgoings in order to strengthen their squad, United and Chelsea will want to play catch up.
Ivan Peresic may not be as prolific a goal scorer as he was earlier in his career, however, he has gone on to portray his performance as the typical prolific and pacey winger, tracking back and working hard for the team, which has undoubtedly caught the eye of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. In two season’s time, Peresic has recorded 16 assists under his belt.
With both Jose Mourinho’s counter-attacking style of play and Antonio Conte’s habit of exploiting defences with quickly spreading trio of attackers, Peresic will be a very good addition to both the sides providing the lightening pace that stretches the defense and allows other attackers and midfielders to roam more freely.
Here is how both the team could look with Peresic and rest of the rumored transfer targets in their team:
