His team would finish fourth in the tournament edition with 17 wins, 9 losses & 12 draws and qualify for the Champions League third qualifying round.

The Bernabéu based side would finish atop the tournament table, winning 24, losing 6 & drawing 8 from the 38 matches and qualify for the Champions League group stage.
