Gyandash Singh Mayanglambam of India finished 14th in Taolu Men’s Taijiquan event at the 14th Wushu World Championship 2017 here at Kazan, Russia.
Gyandash who won Gold medal in the same event at South Asian Games 2016, scored very narrow 8.98 points out of 10 and had to be content with 14th position.
China’s Shunhong Yang (9.70), Hong Kong’s Tak Yan Samuei Hui (9.63) and Japan’s Tomohiro Araya (9.61) shared podium.
Taijiquan or sometimes called as Tai Chi or Taiji is a traditional Chinese art which practised for both its defense training and its health benefits. The term Taiji refers to a philosophy of the forces of yin and yang, related to the moves. This form of Wushu is famous for slow, relaxed movements.
