Svenssen wins Gold, Khan wins Silver in Skeet at the ISSF World Cup Stage

The ISSF World Cup stage in all events concluded today after the 50M 3 positions finals which saw Marcus Svenssen of Sweden prevail over India’s Mairaj Ahmad Khan. Mairaj was the only medalist for India ahead of many big names in the Indian Shooting World.

After 15 semifinal targets, Khan and Svenssen were tied at the end of regular course of the match where they had crushed 14 clays each and once in the tie-breaking shoot-off, Khan missed out on his very first double, which meant Marcus won his maiden

After they both hit 15 semifinal targets, Svensson and Khan finished tied also at the end of the regular course of the match, where they both crushed 14 clays. In the subsequent tie-breaking shoot-off, Khan missed on his very first double, delivering the maiden Gold medal of Marcus Svensson.

At the end of the semifinal round Tammaro Cassandro of Italy, Vincent Hancock of the United States and Juan Jose Aramburu of Spain all finished with 14 target hits, which meant a three-way shoot-off was required to determine the two participants of the Bronze medal match. The ISSF Shooter of the year 2015 was the first to lose the competition and he finished 5th. After winning over other participants to reach the Bronze medal match, Tammaro Cassandro of Italy prevailed over Juan Jose Aramburu in a perfect outing as the first time semifinalist.

In the overall medal standings China finished at the top followed by Russia, Ukraine,  Germany and Spain in the top five countries.
