Season VI of World Series Boxing Starts with Turkey Vs China bout this weekend

World series of Boxing finally gets curtain raised as newcomers Turkey Conquerors takes on China’s mighty Dragons this weekend. Curtains will finally go up on Sunday when Turkiye Conquerors tackle the China Dragons on a big night of boxing in Istanbul. It is also seen as the home team’s debut against a team which made an average debut with mixed results in season V.

Both teams will be desperate to begin their campaigns with a victory. While the Turkish franchise. It will be a return of any Turkish Franchise to the World Series, with Istanbul Bospherous having been part of Season I. Six years from then and with a format shift from individual cities to countries, the boxers will be keen to perform at their best on Saturday night.

On the other side is a China Dragons, who finished sixth in their group in season V ahead of renowned rivals, will be keen to use that experience to qualify for the knockout phase this time around. There will be five weight categories in the game: Light Flyweight (49kg), Bantamweight (56kg), Light Welterweight (64kg), Middleweight (75kg) and Heavyweight (91kg). The game will be streamed live on the WSB YouTube channel.

Turkiye Conquerors strong light flyweight Hamza Kartal takes on China Dragons’ technician He Junjun in the opening bout of Season VI. It what could be the standout match of the evening as both boxers have good WSB experience under their belts, with Junjun winning three times against top opponents in Season V. Second bout of the night will have Hakan Cigdem, who recently moved up to the bantamweight category, against China’s Xu Boxiang as he looks to make his mark on WSB debut.

Olympian Yakup Sener who participated in 2012 London Olympics, is the most senior Turkish boxer in their line up, back in his preferred light welterweight category will be tied against Dragons newcomer Meng Caicheng. National Championships bronze medalist Evren Tibukoglu, who participated in WSB Season I will try to overcome China’s Zhao Minggang. In the last bout of the night, Turkey’s top heavyweight Seyda Keser will flex his muscles against China’s 20-year-old Yu Fengkai, himself no stranger to the big stage having competed at last year’s ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok.
