Mumbai: Rajasthan Cricket Association president Lalit Modi met members of the association in Dubai to completely accept the resolutions of Lodha panel for state associations. Lalit Modi was the commissioner of Indian Premiere League till 2010.
As per the discussions, the RCA office-bearers have decided to call for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to make changes to the constitution.
The office-bearers resolved that no person would hold post for more than nine years. Player representatives (men and women) and a nominee of the State Accountant General will be included and former international players will get automatic membership, with proxy voting coming to an end.
Supreme Court backed Lodha panel has made some decision to cleanse the game. BCCI are taking advice from Retired SC Judge and former Press Council of India chairman Markandey Katju regarding implementation of the report. Katju had called the report ‘unconstitutional and illegal’. BCCI is planning to file a review petition.
