Kavita Chahal wins Gold at the World Police and Fire Games 2017
Los Angeles 2017 World Police and Fire Games was yet another performance witness to the Indian Women Boxing powerhouse, Kavita Chahal who beat Claire Horgan of London Metro Police Force 3-0 in a one-sided match at the 81+kg category.
The Bhiwani born Boxer didn’t allow her opponent take any points in the gold medal bout and won her second World Police and Fire Games gold medal with the first one coming at Ireland in 2013.
The 32- year-old Arjuna Awardee Women Boxer Chahal is a twice-World Championship medalist, 5-time gold medalist in the Federation Cup, and 5-times Gold medalist in All India Police Games.
The current edition of World Police & Fire Games (2017) are scheduled in Los Angeles, CA, USA between August 7-16, 2017. The Games are an Olympic-style competition with 10,000 athletes representing law enforcement, firefighters, and officers from corrections, probation, border protection, immigration and customs from 70+ countries across the world competing in 60+ sports. Founded and hosted several times in the United States, past host countries include, Canada, Spain, Australia, Sweden, and Northern Ireland.
